Astro-Genealogy combines astrology and genealogy for the purpose of achieving greater understanding of a family or a lineage. Integral to this practice is the process of analyzing and studying family relationships and patterns by overlaying a family tree with a natal chart for each member, drawing out characteristics of individual personalities as both a product and an influence on family dynamics. Through greater understanding of who we are, and why, we may learn from our ancestors how to create a more personally fulfilling life for ourselves, our family and future generations.

What astrology and genealogy have in common is the use of birth data which then translates into a natal chart; and a family tree which outlines the chronology and familial relationship of each member.

Where they differ is in the detail and the approach. Genealogy represents the factual research and documentation of details that link to geography, occupation, social conditions and other data of individual or family life, but this is often only two-dimensional in nature. Astrology provides the opportunity to understand the personalities of the individual family members and ancestors, their relationships and family dynamics, and the shared soul journeys of each person and group.

Astro-genealogy offers a pathway to understand the patterns, both challenging and beneficial, that have been carried through the generations. In discovering the stories, their underlying meaning, and the richness of our ancestry we create the potential for self healing and enhanced relationships while offering future generations untold benefits.
